so i just bought my new imac last night and I'm trying to install final cut and it won't let me install it cause not all the hardware requirements are met. I have no clue what requirement I don't have. does anyone know what I'm supposed to do?

is fcp 5 for intel or powerpc macs? that might be a dumb question, I don't know how old fcp 5 is.

do you mean the imac is new to you, or new as in the latest version?

its for powerpc macs. and the mac is new to me, I just bought it from the apple store last night

and i am assuming powerpc is pretty old? haha
Stefan C.
yea if FCP 5 is for power pc only, it won't work on the new intel imacs....but nice buy, those things are pretty sweet.

If it is a legit copy you are probably eligible for a cheap upgrade.

yeah I've been saving up since the summer for it. and that explains why it won't install. thanks for the help!
