ive been lookin into a new computer, i wanna go with a apple macbook pro..but that means id have to buy all my adobe programs which is like 5 grand.
if i go with a dell xps i ALMOST the same things as the macbook but i dont have to spend money on adobe software.
i dont kno how many of you use mac, but for those of you that do..is it worth the extra $$$?

Go with whatever you're comfortable with. I prefer PCs for editing and overall usage because I've been using them for far too long. I probably could eventually get comfortable with a Mac, but with every Mac I've used, I've found myself just stumbling around the interface or wishing I knew how to do something I can do with my eyes closed on a PC.
Don't worry. I'm planning on eventually getting a Mac to play around on later on down the road.

Blinkrocks is right about the whole interface thing.Going from a PC your whole life to a mac is really confusing. The first time I used a mac I had no clue what was going on,but once I got use to it then it was easy.Mac's are really user friendly to,you have less chances of getting a virus on a mac then on a pc.
This is definitely in the wrong section to,someone wanna move it to the right place?

i have had my ibook for about 2 years now, yeah and thats a macbook. its from like back n the day (99 to be exact) yet for some reason it still runs faster and stronger then just about any Pc notebook ive ever used even brand new models. theyre not lying when they say once you go mac you wont go back, they take a bit to get used to (if your retarded) there is nothing about a mac that is comllicated, its like the computer made for a lazy stupid person who is impatient and wants a bullet of a computer. Im getting a new Macbook pro next week and even tho im poor im taking out a credit card just to get it, its that good, sucks bout all that software tho, ide say just rip it unless you go to college or something where you actually need the original. Im not a big fan of the whole ripping off companies and stuff but hey, youve already payed for the programs once so its all fair

Just a note. If you're going to college, there's almost always some random computer guy who spends all his time stealing software. Just ask him and I'm sure he'll hook you up.

It's really all personal preference. I hated mac up until two years ago when I started getting into filming and editing. We have this huge set up of a mac pro and like a 30 inch cinema HD display. The thing is sick. So after that I wanted a mac and now I have a macbook. I really am glad that I got it. But do whatever you feel comfortable with because most of the guys on here will say go with mac but not like thats a bad thing

Macbook Pro. Boot camp gives you seriously no reason to use a regular laptop.
Hint: Boot camp is that program you can put on a mac to run windows programs.

Mac all the way. It has all the use friendliness you could ever need, and it has the function of a linux or freebsd system. Once you learn a bit about those, there's so much you can do from terminal. Mac also has a real solid customer support system.

Its an opinion. Theres never been a test to prove whos better.
Mac is everyones personal preference. I know of people who think PC's are better then mac's for editing. my preference is that mac is better then pc's because pc's blow.
