alright, so i had trouble connecting my camera to my laptop because i didn't have a firewire port. so i went out and bought a firewire card, it fits perfectly, but i go to upload video and it still says its not reading it, i checked and double checked everything, ilink cable, camera in playback, what the hell do i do

mbp? not sure what that is, and im using a handycam to try to upload it and it came with 2 disks, both of which i installed

it was me sarcastically telling you to buy a macintosh MacBook Pro computer becasue they kick ass ad you wouldnt have this problem haha

So you have installed the drivers that came with your firewire card?

yeah sounds like a driver problem...or maybe the firewire port on your camera is bad

no drivers or anything came with the card, when i plug it into my laptop, it makes that noise like its recognizing it, like the one u hear when u plug in an ipod, but it still doesnt come up as trying to install anything, what should i do

i take that back, all the drivers are installed, under device manager it says all that crap about VIA OHCI compliant IEEE blah blah blah. Is it bad there are 2 things under my 1394 bus host controller?

Post a screen grab of what your seeing in the controller, take the grab by pressing Print Screen + CTRL + C and posting it in either photoshop or paint. Save it and Then upload it onto a file upload site such as photobucket and post up the link so we can get a feel for your situation alittle better.
